Glasen Tekstilec is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-partisan organization established in 2017. Glasen Tekstilec has been working on affirming and recognizing the problems of workers and the violation of human and workers’ rights, as well as on raising the awareness of workers through education, debates, conferences, seminars, and other activities, as education, advocacy and lobbying, research, participation in the preparation of laws and other normative acts and regulations from the areas of interest of the association and the workers from the private sector, with emphasis on the textile, leather, and shoe industry. Through the programs and projects implemented by Glasen Tekstilec, it is directly committed to the promotion of human rights, workers’ rights, access to justice for the marginalized, protection against gender-based discrimination, promotion of gender equality, and equal pay for the same work done. The focus of the association is women’s rights, given that 90% of employees in the textile industry are women.
Glasen Tekstilec has implemented over 10 independent projects and several partner projects. Through the project activities, it strives for the direct promotion of the rights of women textile workers, which by the way are human rights, guaranteed by the Constitution.
