The goals of the three-day workshop were to introduce textile workers to:

  • textile cooperative models and their potential benefits for women's economic empowerment. A session on the structure of cooperatives (social enterprises) explained their functioning and horizontal management.
  • best practices of textile cooperatives from the region and beyond, where we had presentation sessions of textile cooperatives from Croatia and Spain, such as Kamensko and Mondragon.
  • developing a model and improving the existing business plan from "Glasen Tekstilec" for the first textile cooperative in our country, where through practical sessions with participants who provide ideas and needs, the plan of "Glasen Tekstilec" for the formation of the first textile cooperative in our country by textile workers who have lost their jobs or are on the verge of the margins was refined and developed.
  • opportunities for funding from the European Union and other foreign funds. With the help of a session presenting the key actions of the Erasmus program, textile workers were introduced to potential supporters of textile cooperatives.
