The study prepared by the author Sonja Stojadinović, published by "Glasen Tekstilec", presents an analysis of the possibilities for opening the first textile cooperative in the Republic of North Macedonia. In order to locate the shortcomings and provide suggestions for improving the legal framework that exists in our country, the Macedonian Law on Cooperatives, the Croatian Law on Cooperatives and the regulations that exist in the European Union were analyzed. Since there are cooperatives in the world that are giants and employ thousands of workers, and yet operate on the principle of cooperatives, the Spanish giant Mondragon is presented as a relevant example.

In order to take advantage of the access we have to European funds, an analysis is also given of which funds can be used to develop the work of the cooperative. Since the cooperative is a profit-making organization in its operating principle, a business plan is also offered on the basis of which the cooperative should initially function.

At the end of the analysis, conclusions and proposed solutions are provided on how to improve Macedonian regulation and enable a more efficient and easier opening of textile cooperatives, as well as how to assist the state in popularizing this type of economic association.
