Glasen Tekstilec, alongside international organizations, was part of the session of the OECD International Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Textile Industry, which is being held in Paris from 19-23 February 2024.
Kristina Ampeva from Glasen Tekstilec was one of the panelists at the debate “Exploring Approaches to Eliminating Violations of Labor Rights through Available Workers” Grievance and Appeal Mechanisms”, along with representatives from the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, Fair Wear Foundation, as well as members of the OECD on Corporate Responsibility of Business Practices.
At the session, our representative shared the local and national mechanisms for the protection of workers' rights, the work of Glasen Tekstilec and the role it plays in the country in the lack of political will and real union action to improve the situation with workers' rights in the textile and shoe industry.
The achievements of the association in recent years in the institutional and judicial labyrinths were highlighted, as well as the advocacy with foreign fashion brands that brought victory and realization of the rights of hundreds of workers in this sector.
She particularly emphasized the need for corporate social responsibility by brands in their production chain, in conditions where Macedonia is not a member of the EU and we cannot rely on many legal regulations enjoyed by workers from countries that are members of the European Union.
