March: United against violence against women and girls! ![]()
As part of the global 16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women and Girls campaign, our partner ECHO (EcHO Educational Humanitarian Organization), in collaboration with Municipality of Stip and the support of Glasen Tekstilec, organized an inspiring march under the motto: "United against violence against women and girls."„
High school students were part of the event, carrying banners prepared by young ECHO supporters, sending a loud message of solidarity and action to the public. Their energy amplified our call for change and showed that young people are ready to fight for a safer and more equal future.
But our fight does not stop at symbolism. At EHO, we work every day to empower women and girls through our Center for Integrative Multisectoral Approach, providing a package of services to women exposed to violence and advocating for legal reforms that will protect victims.
The key change they are seeking is:
Amending Article 130, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, to allow perpetrators to be prosecuted ex officio rather than at the suggestion of victims. This change is essential to ensuring justice and adequate protection for victims.
The march was more than just a walk – it was an opportunity for a short educational session and interactive discussions with young people about:
Types of violence
Breaking down stereotypes and prejudices
Building a culture of equality and prevention
Together we sent a clear and strong message: Violence is unacceptable. Only united can we create real and lasting change.
