Today we had the pleasure of hosting the Swedish Ambassador and the Embassy team. Sweden in Skopje, within the framework of the initiative #EmbassyOnTheRoad.
The visit represented a significant opportunity to exchange experiences and perspectives on the role of social dialogue, local partnerships and inclusive development in strengthening communities and improving working and living conditions.
During the meeting we presented the development of Glasen Tekstilec from a local initiative to a recognizable organization with expertise in the areas of labor rights, civic participation, public policies, and community development. We also discussed the importance of cooperation between the civil society sector, institutions, municipalities, educational stakeholders, and the private sector in creating sustainable and modern models for local development.
Special attention was paid to the long-standing cooperation and exchange with partners from Boros, a city internationally recognized for its successful connection of textile tradition with innovation, education, sustainability and modern economic development. As textile cities with similar industrial history, Boros и Stip represent a significant example of how knowledge exchange and international cooperation can contribute to strengthening local capacities and opening new development opportunities.
We also emphasized the importance of continued support from Olof Palme International Center – North Macedonia Programme and Sweden, as well as the cooperation that is continuously developing and contributing to strengthening our visibility, expertise and international cooperation.
Through such partnerships and dialogues, we continue to promote approaches that place people, dialogue, and sustainability at the center of development processes.
We are sincerely grateful for the visit, the continued support, and the open and constructive conversation.
