On September 2, we hosted representatives of the Swedish trade union in Shtip. IF Metall, The Trade Union of the City of Subotica and the Olof Palme International Center.
During the visit, Kristina Ampeva from Glasen Tekstilec presented the work of Glasen Tekstilec and Glasen Syndikat, our many years of experience in protecting workers' rights, as well as the challenges faced by workers in the private sector, with an emphasis on the textile and leather industry.
The guests also had the opportunity to learn about the work of the Trade Union Federation 5th Force, represented by Donche Stamenkov, during which they discussed trade union organizing, wages and working conditions, collective bargaining, social dialogue, factory closures, and just transition.
During the study visit, meetings were also held with representatives of trade union organizations from the textile industry and PE "Stipion 2011" Shtip, where practical experiences on trade union organizing, collective agreements and relations with employers were shared.
The visit was an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices, build new partnerships and strengthen regional and international trade union solidarity.
We appreciate the partnership with IF Metall from Sweden, the Trade Union of the City of Subotica and the Olof Palme International Center and believe that this study visit will contribute to new joint initiatives and further cooperation.
